About WORLD HAPPINESS:
"WORLD HAPPINESS," born in 2008 at the Yumenoshima Park Athletic Stadium in Tokyo, attracted approximately 10,000 people from its inaugural event.
It continued to colour Tokyo's summer for 10 years, until its final event at Kasai Rinkai Park in 2017.
The initiator was Yukihiro Takahashi, a member of the globally impactful Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO) and a continuous innovator of the Japanese music scene. Based on the trust and network he cultivated, artists transcending generations and genres, including Ryuichi Sakamoto and Haruomi Hosono, gathered together.
Every year, a "miraculous time" was created where talents resonated across generations.
World Happiness is not just a "stylish adult festival."
It is a counterpoint to the current festival boom and an innovative space where you can experience cutting-edge music in real time.
In fact, audiences and the media alike have commented that "all the acts felt organically connected" and "METAFIVE's stage was at the forefront of world standards," leaving a powerful impression with its originality and challenging spirit.
And in June 2026, three years after the passing of Yukihiro Takahashi, "WORLD HAPPINESS" returns.
Artists who have graced the stage in the past, and the friends Yukihiro loved, will reunite.
Beyond a tribute, a new, evolved "WORLD HAPPINESS" will begin, carrying on music and happiness into the future.

Six indispensable figures of WORLD HAPPINESS, who have built solid careers as artists while continuously supporting Yukihiro Takahashi for many years, have come together.
Hiroshi Takano, who has been leading the Japanese pop-rock scene since his debut produced by Yukihiro Takahashi.
Hirohisa Horie and Ren Takada, who have worked with Yukihiro Takahashi as members of PUPA in addition to his solo activities.
Kenichi Shirane, who has worked with Yukihiro Takahashi since their session with THE BEATNIKS
Kei Takakuwa (Curly Giraffe), who is also a member of Yukihiro Takahashi with In Phase.
Tomohiko Gondo, a unique and indispensable presence in Yukihiro Takahashi's creative activities.
This special band will perform their own songs as well as songs with special significance for this day only, expressing their feelings for Yukihiro Takahashi.
